In March of this year, took place the largest call for proposals ever made by the European Commission for Information Science Technologies (IST). This contest, with a total budget of 1,120 million euros, was part of the 6th Framework Programme and attracted the attention of the whole ICT industry.
Perceval developed an innovative eBusiness project proposal and setup an international consortium of 11 expert partners in 10 different European countries.
The project named VISP, for Virtual ISP, will enable a cluster of small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) to operate as a single business entity, in multiple dynamic business models, for the production of tailored Internet Service Provider (ISP) solutions adapted to local business needs.
In June, the results of the contest were known. More than 140 projects were proposed in the eServices area and VISP was evaluated as being among the five best proposals with a score over 90%.
Our next newsletters will give you more explanations about the innovation and strategy of VISP, what benefits it will bring to our customers and to our partners and what it means for the development of Perceval.
Perceval is the coordinator of this project which started the 1st of November 2005 and will last until mid 2008. VISP received research funding from the European Community's 6th Framework Programme.
We will keep you informed about all its developments and the exciting technologies that will be integrated in our next newsletters. You will also learn more about the R&D department of Perceval, a small but very active and creative team.
"Let's share a bright future together".
