FastLink ADSL Go Light

Description

  • Service definition : FastLink Go Light is a DSL (Digital subscriber line) network access service that delivers high bandwidth Internet connectivity over conventional copper telephone lines. The technology allows simultaneous transport of data and voice on the same local exchange service loop used by PSTN or ISDN services. This capability means heavy data users do not require a second phone line for voice. With DSL technology, users can stay continuously connected to a remote corporate server or Web server as long as their computers and modems are turned on. Continuous connectivity does not generate extra cost, because of the permanent nature of the service. This connectivity allows users to passively receive some information they need, rather than having to dial in for it

Properties

  • Acess usage : FastLink Go Light is intended for single user with standalone workstation.
  • Line quality : ADSL (Asymmetrical digital subscriber line). ADSL is designed to deliver more bandwidth downstream (from the local exchange to the customer site) than upstream.
  • Downstream speed : 512 kbit/s.
  • Upstream speed : 128 kbit/s.
  • Volume transfer limitation : 400 Megabytes (up and down) per month. Additional volume will be charged.
  • Class of service : FastLink Go Light is a best effort service. Link speed is not guaranteed and may be depending on the distance between the user's site and the local exchange. If link speed guarantee is required, other types of services are available.
  • IP addressing : An IP address is dynamically assigned per session.
  • Supported workstation operating systems : Microsoft Windows 95 and up.
  • Customer premises equipment : An ITU-T G.992.2 compliant ADSL modem connected to the workstation via Ethernet or a USB port is required.

Installation

  • Line installation : FastLink Go Light service can be offered in most areas both on single PSTN lines as on certain types of ISDN lines. The service requires an in-line filter (PSTN) or full rate splitter (ISDN) to split the traffic between data and voice.
  • Do-It-Yourself installation : FastLink Go Light installation can easily be carried out by the Customer at no cost: simply install the software, the modem, the splitter, and if necessary, add a network card.
  • Telecom installation : This installation, offered at standard pricing, includes the installation of the splitter and, if necessary, the in-house wiring.
  • Full installation : If required, Perceval can provide a full installation at the customer premises. This installation, offered at standard pricing, includes the installation of the splitter, the modem, the software configuration and, if necessary, the in-house wiring.

Customer support

  • Helpdesk access : FastLink Go Light includes helpdesk call assistance during normal business hours.

  • Recurring fee : FastLink Go Light recurring charges cover all line costs, including downstream and upstream Internet traffic. Additional volume will be charged if volume transfer limitation is exceeded.
